For Women’s History Month, ‘Ladies Night Film Series’ is taking a deep dive into the sleazy world of exploitation cinema by highlighting the work of legendary female filmmakers Doris Wishman and Roberta Findlay! Creating some of the strangest, sleaziest, and most shocking films of the era, Doris & Roberta were two of the only women working in the male dominated exploitation & adult film industries. All tickets for films in this series are only $5.

Doris Wishman was an American director, producer and screenwriter. She has directed and produced at least 30 feature films during a career spanning over four decades.

A Night to Dismember (1983) - A woman from a “cursed” family is released from a mental facility, and soon dismembered corpses start turning up.

Deadly Weapons (1974) - Seeking revenge after her boyfriend was murdered, a woman goes after the mob using the only two weapons she has...

Bad Girls go to Hell (1965) - After killing a man who attacked her, a woman flees to New York where she is used and abused. Can she evade the cops while searching for a new life?

Roberta Findlay is an American director, producer and cinematographer. She made some of the weirdest, sleaziest, most perverted films of the era.

Lurkers (1988) - A woman is haunted by flashbacks of her dead mother and visions of dead people floating.

Tenement (1985) - A drug-dealing band of violent street thugs terrorize the tenants of a South Bronx apartment building.

A Woman’s Torment (1977) - An unstable woman's grip on reality slowly diminishes, giving way to increasingly violent delusions and an ever-growing bloodlust…

 

Ladies Night aims to explore and redefine femininity in genre cinema. Challenging preconceived notions of what’s expected of women in genre films. With film selections highlighting empowered, determined, passionate and psychotic women. These are not your usual “chick-flicks”… and that’s the point.
